System Vertigo - who they? Well, actually it's a case of who him? Jimmy Galvin, longtime mainstay of the Bristol muso scene, is the vision behind this debut single, a man with a bulging contacts book of all the right people (Adrian Utley, Si John, Rob Merrill and Alex Swift all pop up here). The result is a wonderfully sweeping widescreen experience, laced by one of the most soulful voices this city's ever produced.

With juicy More Rockers and DJ Madds remixes fitted as standard [and the album hard on its heels], In a less fucked-up world this would be shooting to the top of the charts while Posh Spice was signing up for work experience at Boots. We can but hope.
